Editorial Policy

GTA6Map.net publishes news and wiki pages about Grand Theft Auto VI alongside its interactive maps. This page sets out where that information comes from, how unconfirmed material is labelled, and what happens when something turns out to be wrong.

Where the information comes from

The first source is always Rockstar Games itself: the official trailers, the screenshots and artwork on the GTA VI site, and Rockstar Newswire posts. Statements from Take-Two Interactive, such as earnings calls, are treated the same way.

Reporting from other outlets and analysis from the community are used as well, and are credited. Each news story and wiki page lists its sources at the bottom so a claim can be checked against where it came from.

How rumors and leaks are labelled

Every news story carries one of four labels:

  • Official: announced or shown by Rockstar Games or Take-Two.
  • Confirmed: not an announcement, but reported and verifiable from a named source.
  • Rumor: claimed by a source that cannot be verified.
  • Leak: material that was not meant to be public. Leaked content is described, not reproduced.

Wiki pages are marked Unconfirmed when they cover something Rockstar has not shown. A rumor is never written up as a fact, and a page is updated or removed when Rockstar contradicts it.

How pages are written

Stories and wiki pages are written and edited by the people named on the About page. Drafts may be prepared with the help of AI writing tools; every page is checked against its sources and edited by a person before it is published, and that person is responsible for it.

Corrections

If something on the site is wrong, report it through the contact page. Factual errors are fixed on the page itself. When a correction changes what a story or wiki page says, the page shows an updated date, and wiki pages record the change in their changelog.

Independence and advertising

GTA6Map.net is an independent fan site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or paid by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. The site is funded by display advertising, which has no say in what is covered or how.
