GTA 6 PC Release Reportedly Set for Early 2027, Four Sources Tell GamesBeat
GamesBeat reports that Rockstar plans to release GTA 6 on PC between January and March 2027, months after the console launch. Rockstar has not confirmed a PC version.

This story is not confirmed by Rockstar Games. Treat the details as provisional.
Rockstar Games plans to release the PC version of GTA 6 in the first three months of 2027, GamesBeat reported on October 13, citing four industry sources familiar with the studio's plans. Rockstar has not announced a PC version, and a representative did not respond to GamesBeat's request for comment.
The sources asked not to be named, and the report gives a window, not a date. GTA 6 launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
What the GTA 6 PC report says
GamesBeat's wording is that Rockstar "plans to release the PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI within the first three months of 2027". It adds one condition: the PC release "will have to pass the same quality bar as the console version of the game before Rockstar pushes it live".
The report does not say which stores the PC version would be sold on, what it would cost or what hardware it would need.
How long Rockstar's PC versions usually take
A release between January and March would put the PC version within about four months of the console launch. Rockstar's last two big games took far longer:
- Grand Theft Auto V came to consoles in September 2013 and to PC in April 2015, about 19 months later.
- Red Dead Redemption 2 came to consoles in October 2018 and to PC in November 2019, 13 months later.
GamesBeat ties the shorter wait to money and to roleplay servers. It describes Rockstar as "highly incentivized" to earn from the game quickly, and notes that Rockstar bought Cfx.re, the team behind the FiveM roleplay platform, in August 2023. All of the GTA roleplay activity on the company's servers takes place on PC, the report says.
What Rockstar and Take-Two have said about PC
Neither company has confirmed a PC version of GTA 6. Asked about PC at Take-Two's annual shareholder meeting on September 17, CEO Strauss Zelnick called the platform "more and more important" and said the company launches on any platform "for which there's a meaningful audience". He did not name GTA 6 or give a date.
The early 2027 window has come up before. In April, the leaker DetectiveSeeds claimed that Rockstar was aiming for February 2027, citing three former employees who said the date was not final and that the companies wanted the PC version out before the fiscal year ends in March.
Until Rockstar announces a PC version, the only confirmed platforms are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
