GTA 6 Rated Adults Only in South Korea, Clearing It for Sale
South Korea's Game Content Rating Board has given GTA 6 an Adults Only rating over violence, sexual content and drugs, Inven Global reports. GTA 5 got the same rating in 2013.
GTA 6 has been rated Adults Only in South Korea, which clears it for sale to adults there. Inven Global reported the decision on October 16, citing strong violence, sexual content and depictions of drugs.
The rating came from the Game Content Rating Board (GCRB), a private body that now handles adult ratings for PC and console games.
Why a private board rated GTA 6
Until November 1, 2025, Adults Only ratings for PC and console games in South Korea were handled by the government's Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC). From that date the job passed to the GCRB.
How Korea has treated GTA before
An Adults Only rating was the expected result. GTA 5 received the same rating before its Korean release in 2013. The board can refuse a rating altogether: Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony was denied classification in 2017 over anti-social depictions.
What the rating does not tell us
The rating allows the game to be sold. It does not settle a Korean price, a release date for Korean stores or whether the game has Korean subtitles, and the report gives none of those. Rockstar has not announced a separate date for South Korea.
GTA 6 launches worldwide on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
