Rockstar Games was still changing GTA 6 in the last few months of development, Rockstar's Phil Hooker told Bloomberg. "The game is never completely settled," he said in Bloomberg's feature on the making of the game, published on October 14.

Hooker did not say what changed. Nothing in the feature points to a new delay, and the release date is still November 19, 2026.

What Rockstar told Bloomberg

Bloomberg's Jason Schreier spoke to Hooker and other leads, including Rob Nelson, Aaron Garbut and head of publishing Jennifer Kolbe. On how the game was built, Hooker was direct: "We never have an exact blueprint. Even within the last few months, we've changed things," he said.

He put the game's two delays down to parts of it not coming together on schedule, not to a single big problem. Schreier said in Bloomberg's video that "it does seem like this date is not going to change."

Rockstar's next game should come sooner

Hooker also said Rockstar's next project should not take as long. "The engine, the tools and the team we've built during this project will allow us to do things more quickly," he told Bloomberg, adding that the studio can "go more sideways than upwards to build more compelling content." He did not name the project.

Sony's PS5 page lists features, not frame rate

The GTA 6 page on PlayStation.com now has a section on PS5 features. It lists Tempest 3D audio, fast loading from the PS5's SSD, and the DualSense's haptic feedback, adaptive triggers and speaker. The page marks the game "PS5 Pro Enhanced", but it does not say what the Pro version adds, and it does not mention frame rate or a performance mode.

Rockstar has not said what frame rate GTA 6 targets on any console. The page lists the Standard Edition at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99.

GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
