GTA 6 has "hundreds" of small interiors players can enter, Rockstar developers told Bloomberg's Jason Schreier for a newsletter published on October 16, 2026. In the same piece, Schreier wrote that the story seems "more inspired by Red Dead Redemption 2 than Grand Theft Auto 5".

Rockstar did not give an exact count, and it has not published a list of the buildings that can be entered. The RDR2 comparison is Schreier's view after a limited, hands-off look at the game, not a statement from Rockstar.

How many interiors does GTA 6 have?

"There are so many of these little interiors, hundreds of them, that you can go and explore," the developers told Bloomberg, GamingBolt reported. Schreier spoke to head of publishing Jennifer Kolbe, co-studio head Aaron Garbut, Phil Hooker and Rob Nelson; the reports do not say which of them said it.

The example given was a gas station, where Jason and Lucia get into the back office without being seen and take cash without setting off an alarm, Tbreak reported.

Jason and Lucia walk into a graffiti-covered lobby at night where several men are waiting.

The extended gameplay look already showed several interiors, including a convenience store robbery, a lobby and an office suite. Rockstar's official screenshots also show a gym where Lucia trains.

Is GTA 6's story like Red Dead Redemption 2?

Schreier described Jason and Lucia as "two people who actually enjoy spending time together". Tech4Gamers notes that this impression comes from very limited, hands-off time with the game.

That fits what Rockstar has shown. In the launch trailer, Jason tells Lucia, "We've stuck together through everything."

The newsletter follows Bloomberg's longer feature on the making of the game, in which Hooker said Rockstar was still changing GTA 6 in its last months. GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026.
