GTA 6 Ultimate Edition Upgrade Is $20 on Xbox, and Not Yet on Sale on PlayStation
Standard Edition buyers can add the Ultimate Edition content later. The Xbox Store lists the upgrade at $20.00 for pre-order; on the US PlayStation Store it has no price and cannot be bought on its own.
Buyers of the $79.99 Standard Edition of GTA 6 can add the Ultimate Edition content as a separate purchase. The Xbox Store lists Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition Upgrade at $20.00 for pre-order, dated November 19, 2026, with the note that it requires the base game.
On the US PlayStation Store the picture is different. The upgrade appears there as the game's only add-on, but it carries no price and cannot be bought on its own, so on PS5 the content still comes with the $99.99 Ultimate Edition. Rockstar has not said when the add-on goes on sale there.
The two routes cost the same. The Standard Edition is $79.99 and the upgrade is $20.00, which is the gap to the $99.99 Ultimate Edition.
What the upgrade adds
The Xbox listing sets out the contents. The five places it unlocks are Rideout Customs, One-Eyed Willie's, Sara's Unisex Salon, Stock 305 and Electric Fang Tattoo, and the items are spread across Jason's and Lucia's story rather than handed over at once.
- Vehicles: the '95 Grotti Cheetah, a '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy, a Shitzu Squalo boat, a Dinka Enduro motorcycle, a kayak and project cars to restore.
- Weapons: the Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers, and personalized versions of Jason's Girardi and Lucia's Klose pistols.
- Looks: exclusive outfits and hairstyles, and over 50 signature tattoos designed by the artist collective FAILE.
- Things to do: a raid on the PTT Youngin$ Compound and a classic car collection to put together.
Boxed copies can upgrade too
The physical Standard Edition is a code in a box rather than a disc. Buyers redeem that code on their PlayStation or Xbox account and can then buy the upgrade pack from the platform's store, iXBT.games reported on November 6, citing Rockstar. GameSpot reported the same week that the upgrade can be bought at any time, before or after release.
What is not settled
Rockstar has not said whether the $20.00 price holds after launch, and the add-on is not yet purchasable on the US PlayStation Store. The Xbox listing also says purchases made before November 19 include the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+, which the Ultimate Edition carries as well.
GTA 6 is out on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with pre-load from November 10.
